2 and 25

\Another week has flown by already, and a busy one at that!

We got to spend some time together this past weekend with Uncle Andy, which Ezri absolutely loved.  As the weather has cooled on us, with temps nearer 50, wind and rain on and off, we decided to go to the Grand Rapids Public Museum on Saturday.  Having not been there in quite some time, we were not sure what we would find or if Ezri would enjoy it.  We all had a good time :)

Later in the afternoon, we went to the farm for a while for some fresh air.  Ezri quickly found her favorite cat there and loved on her :)  She also enjoyed the chickens, especially when they would run after a golf ball when Andy threw it.

Sunday, Mommy got to sing with the band again at church, so it was a long morning.  After lunch and naps, Ezri went to the park with Daddy and Andy, and later Grandpa when he and Grandma came to visit.

One of Ezri's favorite things to do at the park, besides swing, is to play in the ball diamond, commanding whoever is with her to go inside and then closing them in with the gate.  Why?  Who knows... but is sure is fun for her!

 We also spent time with Scott, Dawn and Kenny this past Sunday.  Kenny and Alora spent some time "playing" together :)  Kenny, who is 4 months to the day older than Alora, was wanting to hold on to Alora's hand or play with her face.  It was quite cute to watch!

 The week slowed down quite a bit as we worked and played around the house.  One morning, while Mommy took a shower, Ezri set up shop in the bathroom and "went working" while Alora sat in on her meeting.  She is such a character!

We have been working in the basement lately, cleaning out stuff we no longer need or use, tossing and donating like crazy.  Ezri has been busily playing while I work.  One morning I caught her going down her slide on her feet, standing up!  Little Daredevil!

 The big event for the week was Alora turning 2 months old and Ezri turning 25 months old.  I had figured on stopping the monthly pictures with Ezri as she no longer cared to participate, however, now that Alora is having her pictures taken Ezri wants in on it again.

 We've had several doctor days at the house as well.  Ezri re-discovered the toy box now that the ball tent has migrated downstairs.  She has been doctoring everyone, pets included :)

 In addition to Ezri's examinations, Alora also went to her doctor on Thursday for her 2 month visit.  She was 11 pounds, 12.5 ounces and still 23 1/2 inches.  That length measurement has obviously some issue as she has clearly gotten longer... where the mix up was, whether at the hospital or the Dr., we're not sure but regardless, she is healthy, happy and growing well!

We finished out the week with our little helper pitching in wherever she deems help is needed, including feeding Tucker one piece at a time.  Ezri is fulfilling the meaning of her name quite well (Ezri = helper, strong)!

Is It Really March?

It has been another absolutely beautiful week here with temps in the 80's and sunshine all week long!  I fear the lawn is going to need mowing in the next week already - unbelievable!!!  Crocus are up and gone, Daffodils made their appearance this week and Tulips are soon to follow.

The beauty and growth continues within our home as well, with our princesses :)  At 7 weeks (almost 8 already!), Alora is full of smiles now and will coo and "talk" quite often, especially when laying on her playmat.  Ezri is usually not far away, talking up a storm :)

 This past weekend, Opa and Oma stopped by for a visit on Saturday afternoon.  Ezri got in lots of play time with Opa and loved having someone new to boss around for a while!

Alora spent the visit sleeping most of the time we were outside, hanging out with Oma.

 Ezri has been visiting with Molly, our neighbor dog quite a bit in the past few weeks.  Molly, a Great Dane, is a very big dog, but Ezri has no fear of her and fortunately Molly is gentle and sweet.

 Daddy got the quads out for a short time this past weekend as well, and both girls got to go for a ride :)

 We also spent some time hanging out with Scott, Dawn and Kenny on Sunday evening.  We played at the park for a while - some of us more than others... (I really have 3 kids, you know...!)  And then we enjoyed a bonfire together after the kids were sleeping.  So hard to believe we were having a bonfire in mid March, but there we were!

 Even Tucker has been enjoying the wonderful weather, being outside when we let him and surveying the squirrels and other activity through the window when he is inside.  Ezri's chair makes a perfect place to lounge too!

On the few occasions we played inside, Ezri was bouncing her little heart out downstairs...

However, much of our play time was outside.  We even got out the sidewalk chalk this week and added some art to the driveway!  Ezri thought this was quite exciting :)

 Each evening, have gone on walks together with Ezri in the stroller, Daddy pushing, and Alora in the carrier strapped to Mommy.  Our walks end at the park across the street for Ezri to burn off that final energy before bedtime.  One afternoon this past week, Uncle Mike came to visit and got to join us.  As Ezri doesn't get to see him much, she was loving the extra attention and made sure she showed off even more!

 Ezri likes to go with us to get the mail from the box.  One day, she had a card she was given and wanted to put it in our mailbox as I was retrieving the mail for the day.  Inspired, I made her a little mailbox of her own, which she has since been proudly carrying around the house.  She has even gotten some mail from Daddy and Mommy :)

 As busy as Ezri is, Alora often gets to observe the chaos.  It seems this week's attention has been Ezri's...  Alora does get plenty of snuggles, love and attention, it just happens more when Ezri is sleeping and we can get some quiet time together.  Still, she is quite a content and happy baby and takes it all in stride... the screaming, playing, un-intended abuse... 

 Alora even participates in Ezri's games... like taking phone calls from whoever Ezri might be talking to at the time :)

As I write this, Alora is napping and Ezri is busy "working"...  currently at her little table with her computer in front of her, phone to her ear, finger to her lips instructing me "quiet... Ezri on phone".!  Such a hoot she is!!!  God is so good, keeping us smiling here :)
