The girls have been enjoying their new toys, now that all of the Christmas parties are done. Each got Lego's, and we have had several Lego days with plenty of lost dropped and lost pieces along the way, but they have had fun!
We got to see Uncle Michael just after Christmas, in town from Baltimore. It has been two years since he has been home, so the girls were fairly unfamiliar with him, especially Tierney. Alora had some moments of being unsure, but warmed up after watching Ezri play a game with him and Aunt Becky. It took until almost the end of the night before Tierney came out of her shell. While they were here visiting, we ate, played some games and the girls got to open a few more gifts. They were very excited about the donut shaped snow tube and couldn't wait to use it!
We had our last Christmas party on New Years Eve day with Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle Mike, Aunt Kerri, Aubrey and Wesley at Grandpa and Grandma's new house. A few more fun toys came home, including a small indoor trampoline for Tierney and a couple of swings for the older girls to use outside. Of course, the trampoline needed to be assembled right away and one of the swings was hung in the basement. The girls have had such fun burning energy on these new toys!
New Year's Eve was low key for us, with much of the night spent quietly with a few friends, staying up long enough to see the ball drop and then off to bed we went. We're not very exciting people lately.
Since it is now a new year, Baby Pip's arrival is even closer and more a reality. With just weeks left, we snuck in a few pictures for fun.
The girls are very excited to meet Baby Pip. We have been making some final preparations, assembling some gear and gathering supplies. There is chatter almost daily about when we will get to meet the baby. Each time we got to see our midwife, there are questions about whether it will be that day or not. Alora has discovered that there is possibility the baby could be born on her birthday, and she is now embracing that after at first being afraid she might have to share gifts and cake with the baby. I think she might be disappointed if the baby is not born on her birthday.
Early this past week, we got to spend some time visiting with Great Grandma. The girls got to open their gifts from her since we were unable to go to that family party this year. It was nice to enjoy that time together as well as lunch out. We haven't had much time to spend with her lately because of our new school schedule, my helping in the shop, tending to the girls and preparing for baby.
As we now wait for baby, we are hopeful winter continues to be tolerable.
