Our first week with Elam was busy! We had lots of visitors and this Mommy found herself pretty wore out. The week flew by, and I find it hard to believe he has been with us for a week already. Such a short time, yet it feels like he has been a part of our family all along and already it is difficult to imagine life without him in it.
There has been a lot of help in the form of friends and family in the afternoons. The girls have enjoyed the extra attention and fun with Grandma, Oma, Becci and Kathy, and have done so much while Mommy and Elam napped - things like playing in the snow, crafts, special movies, nail polish, princess parties and so much more.
There has not been any jealousy, thankfully. Tierney is just as excited and interested as the older two girls, wanting to help and be right in the middle of the action too.
Elam gets no shortage of attention from his big sisters. It seems Alora feels she has a special claim on him given their "twin" status.
Daddy and Mommy have been loving the baby snuggles and doing a lot of remembering about the girls when they were at this stage as well. Its definitely been a week full of emotion around here, but we are sure loving little Elam!!!
Our week ended with a few big events for Elam. His first bath (which he hated!) surrounded by his big sisters who were eager to be involved...
On Sunday, Elam also went on his first trip outside of the house, to church, which meant his first time in the car seat and first time riding in the car. At church, Mommy wore him in a wrap the entire time to help keep the multitude of germs and hands at bay. He slept soundly through the whole service, happy to be snuggled up with Mommy.
