Happy December!
Our week was one of catching up after the long Thanksgivng weekend away. So much laundry! We struggled to get back into school after such a fun time away. We got in our visit with Great Grandma on Wednesday, when I was able to clean and help her wrap Christmas gifts while the kids played outside on a nicer December day. We also worked hard with school to get ahead so that we would not have school on Friday due to it being a MOPS week. It felt like a blur!
Saturday evening, we had a fun surprise for the kids. Kathy and the boys joined us in our Christmas light and laser lit living room to watch a TSO concert together. The kids thought the music and lights were pretty great!
Sunday, before the kids watched their Minno episode for church, we gathered at the table together to light our advent candles.
After church for all and lunch together, the adults participated in a first for all of us - attending a funeral virtually for a member of our church with whom all of our paths had crossed many times in our church activities and beyond when helping friends in need. After a 3 year battle with cancer he passed away last week.
Later that afternoon, after our friends had gone home, the kids and I started our holiday baking off with Christmas cookies!
The kids worked for quite a while on decorating their cookies once they had been cut out and baked, and they had a great time doing it! Let the sweet tooth in our home rejoice, this is only the beginning of the goodies to soon fill our home and our bellies this Christmas season.
