Happy Memorial Day

We had a packed and busy holiday weekend here!  It got up into the mid 90's, but we made the most of it, trying to stay cool.  A trip to Menards Saturday was in order as Ezri has been all about using the "sweep" (broom) in the garage, always wanting to help.  So, we got one for her and she immediately went to work cleaning the store :)

We were able to attend the open house of an exchange student, Jorge (whom Ezri calls "Ho-Hay") who has been living with some close friends for the year.  While at the party, Ezri found plenty of fun along with Andy... including a zip line!

Opa and Oma returned home from the Netherlands on Saturday, so we got to visit with them on Sunday along with Grandpa and Grandma and Andy, Scott, Dawn and Kenny. 

Ezri loved the extra attention :)  She also got to open up a few gifts Opa and Oma brought back with them.

 Monday, Memorial Day, we attended a parade in Otsego, followed by a memorial dedication.  It was HOT!  Ezri is all about marching bands right now, so she thoroughly enjoyed watching the parade, and especially the band.  She also loved the candy :)

 Alora just tried to stay cool and away from the sun, napping for much of the parade.

The holiday weekend also brought along another month for Alora - 4 months old now!  Ezri wanted to get in on helping with the picture taking :)

I believe we might have a model in training, though you will never catch this mommy encouraging that madness outside of for fun in the house :)
Ezri has been busy at work learning to pedal her new two wheel bike an has finally succeeded!  She is quite proud to ride that little bike up and down the driveway...

Alora had her 4 month visit to the doctor this week.  We were surprised by her measurements... 14 pounds 13 ounces (about 50th percentile) and 27 3/4 inches (way off the top of the chart!)  She checked out great and is growing well :)  Thankfully, she is feeling much better than last week with only a cough holding on.  Unfortunately, Ezri picked up what she had mid way through this week and we started over with 102.9 and higher fevers and icky, fussy toddler attitude and sleep interruption :(

We are off to prepare for another busy weekend... Alora will be baptized on Sunday and we will be celebrating with friends and family.  We are so grateful for Alora, her giggles and shrieks, smiles and all the fun and joy she brings to our home.  God has given us such blessings in our little girls!
