Just Doing Our Thing

We finally found ourselves with a quiet, plan free week and enjoyed it immensely!

We've had quite a few rainy days scattered throughout our weeks lately, and this week was the same.  Wednesday, just as the Reader Feeder bus pulled in across the street, it began to storm.  After 30 minutes, there was a break in the storm, though not the ran, so we grabbed umbrellas and booked it across the street to get some new books, a giant freeze pop and some snacks.  This has become a highlight in the week for the girls this summer.  

One afternoon, Daddy found a strange, large moth in his garage, hanging out on his earmuffs.  We had quite a bit of fun checking it out as it was like nothing we had ever seen before.

Thursday evening, while Mommy was not feeling well, Daddy took Ezri to 4H Cloverbud Camp for an evening of crafting.  Ezri had a great time!  She painted a wooden cat, made a caterpillar, painted a show box for her Cloverbud projects and made a container garden.  Daddy had a great time watching and helping her.

Saturday morning, we braved the crowds at the local blueberry patch.  In about an hour and 8 bushes, the 5 of us picked more than 22 pounds! Of course, more than that was picked, but much was enjoyed by the girls as they picked too.

Saturday afternoon, we got to spend some time with Uncle Kevin, Aunt Katie, Drew, Luke and Annie, who were in town for a short visit.  It was wonderful to see them after such a long time and we all had a great time together at the park where we met.  The older two girls were so exited about seeing the boys again and meeting Annie that they insisted on making and gathering up gifts to give them.  It was so sweet to watch them present them.

We snuck in a few family pictures while there too.

 The kids had a great time playing together and were on familiar terms in no time flat.  There was some frog catching to be done...

 And remote control cars to be driven...

 They played on the playground, in the grass, on the rocks, near the creek, all over the park!  It was a wonderful gathering that ended too soon for everyone as it will likely be years before we are all together again.
