Apparently much of last week went by without many pictures, but that's life! Much of our week was a quiet version of our usual, with sunny days, play outside and work around the house, with quite a few very long days with late nights of work for Alex.
One evening, while Daddy worked away at some parts, the kids and I began the process of tearing apart our utility trailer that is badly in need of work, with the lights having been broken and wires torn when borrowed some time ago in addition to a rotting deck that needed replacing. In order for it to be any more than a giant paperweight in our yard, it needed to be torn down. So, with some power tools and muscle power, we set to work!
Barb had a lot of days of exercise and free roaming, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Many days he starts out hopping around and then settles in for a nap under the couch all afternoon. One day, he found a companion to cuddle with!
Alex and I celebrated our 16th Wedding Anniversary on Friday. How did we celebrate? The way one does when they are social distancing and avoiding public spaces and crowds - at home with a few close friends around a bonfire, and that was just fine!
Saturday morning, the kids and I headed to Great Grandma's to spend some time with her and share some lunch. I also did some scrubbing and cleaning in the kitchen while the kids played. We spend much of the day there, coming home with a load of veggies from Uncle Fred's garden just before dinner. Later, the kids and I headed to Sandy Pines in the evening for a swim in the lake after a hot day, joined by Kathy, Travis and Emmett. It was nice to cool off and relax for a while that evening.
Sunday we were joined again by Kathy, Travis and Emmett for church at our house. After the kids watched Minno, we settled in to watch our church live via Facebook. This was a special Sunday as we also participated in Communion. This was the first time our church had done Communion together since before all this began, aside from a Good Friday event. So, we had our bread and juice ready to go when it was time.
