Mmmm... Apples!

Another exciting week for us here! 

Friday evening we were able to meet the new baby of our friends Scott and Dawn.  Ezri spent the days leading up to our visit walking around the house talking about "Cot" and the baby - it was the first time she even mentioned Scott's name.  After meeting the new baby, Ezri furthered her conversation by talking about "Doe" (Dawn) and "Baby Cay-ee" (Kenny).  She is picking up words so quickly now!

Saturday, Ezri started coming down with a cold :(  We have spent the week dealing with a fussy baby who is not sleeping very well.  Add the cold to a tooth that has finally popped through after a month and a half of waiting.  Nights have been restless and naps have been short and restless as well.  We are finally on the upswing of the cold, for the most part, and hoping for a return to some normal sleeping around here.

We have been enjoying the fall like weather here that has been slowly turning summer like again as the week progresses.  Sunday we headed over to Crane's Orchard to pick some apples and enjoy the beautiful, though a bit cool weather.  Ezri soon got right into the action and even started tasting apples.

Ezri was very willing to share a bite as well :)

We came across a caterpillar while walking through the orchard.  Ezri is very intrigued by bugs right now and was curious about this particular one for several minutes, following it and watching it's every move very closely :)

In addition to the many delicious apples we were able to pick, Ezri got herself a little pumpkin.  She is quite proud of that pumpkin.

 Tuesday, Ezri and I spent the afternoon outside.  We mowed the lawn together, cleaned some weeds and plants out of the garden and then tackled the task of washing and waxing the car.  While washing the car, Ezri thoroughly enjoyed the bucket of water and the mud puddles in the driveway.  By the time I was done washing the car, Ezri was covered in mud, had dipped her pink and white sweatshirt in the mud several times, effectively making it brown, and had stomped through the puddle many times in her crocs with new white socks on, also brown.  She was quite dirty, but was having a blast, so I just let her go!  Soon, she was interested in helping me wax the car as well - a little less dirty, though her methods were interesting...

Wednesday, Ezri and I went with Grandma to Shipshewana for the day and enjoyed ourselves :)  Ezri did really well riding most of the time and was quite the little trooper - through the flea market, E&S where we stocked up on bulk foods, and the long rides there and back... broken up by some ice cream in the afternoon, of course :)

We expect a beautiful weekend filled with a wedding, home improvement tasks and a little work on a special project Alex and I have chosen to undertake.  All mixed in with some sunshine and warm weather as much as we can :)
