Fun at the Fair!

Yes, I am late at getting this up again...  it's been a VERY busy day for this Mommy!

This past Friday, we got a nice surprise via UPS.  I had signed up to host a House Party for Fisher Price.  The package arrived with the items I was to use for my party... a huge box with four toys!  Christmas is on Fisher Price this year :)  The girls were excited to see what was in the boxes and loved playing with the new toys :)  Now to hide them until Christmas.

Saturday was a nice day for our family.  We checked out the kids day event in Wayland and really enjoyed ourselves.  Various organizations had contributed to provide a totally FREE event including lunch, t-shirts for kids, bounce house, fire trucks and police cars, Schwann's ice cream, books from the library, beads for necklace making and lots of other stuff, all free for everyone.  We were quite impressed and Ezri had a great time!

Monday, the girls and I headed down to the Allegan County Fair with Great Grandma for the day.  We went to watch my cousin Liz show her steer.  It was a lot of sitting and both girls did really great! 

Ezri even made herself some friends while watching :)

We walked around a bit between Liz's show times to check out the other animals, scope out the rides and get some fair food :)  In the baby animal barn, Ezri immediately found the kittens (who all looked a lot like Tobi) and we had to drag her away :)

Our week slowed a little after Monday, but things at home sure did not.  Alora continues to race after Ezri, following her all over now and watching every move, trying to do things and go places she can't yet.  She's also working on 3 teeth all at once currently.  One top, two more bottoms.  Not sure what her rush is!  She's becoming quite the little monkey, climbing on everything!  (Seems I have a picture of another little girl doing the same thing!)

Wednesday, we enjoyed being outside so much, we decided to have another picnic.  It was also a great time to play with the little kitty that has apparently adopted us, showing up Tuesday evening and still around.  Strangely enough, she also looks a lot like Tobi...  We felt so bad for her as she is so thin and obviously malnourished, yet friendly and sweet, wanting in the house.  Apparently dropped, we are guessing :(  Ezri just loves her, so for now we continue to offer a little food and water, some company and will see what happens as time goes on.  Daddy who is a big softy for Tobi cats, says she can be our outdoor kitty... we'll see... 

 Alora was quite interested in all that was going on as she awaited her turn to go outside :)

 We really enjoyed some great play time, chasing around the yard (Ezri and I) and swinging our hearts out that day!

Thursday morning, the girls and I did a little grocery shopping.  On our way home, I was fortunate to be entertained by Ezri's singing - something rare to catch on film.  Thanks to iPhone technology, I was able to capture the video while safely driving (stop worrying Grandmas - my eyes were on the road the entire time!)  For your enjoyment, a medley of Twinkle Twinkle, ABC, You Are My Sunshine and Somewhere Over the Rainbow!...

We also got to go back to the fair with Daddy.  Ezri was so excited because she would be able to finally ride some rides!  Just tall enough now to do more than the carousel, she had a blast!

Poor Alora got pretty wore out, so while Mommy and Ezri went on some rides, she rested with Daddy...

After a short nap, she was her usual happy self and ready to go again!

We even got to see part of the parade, though it was not quite our intention, as getting out when we were ready to leave was not an option.  So, we hung out by my Uncle's camper with his family and Ezri got loaded up with candy again!  We had to watch much of it from under the awning as it rained, but my cousins and Daddy made sure Ezri got the goods :)

What a fun week!  We now look ahead to some time visiting with Uncle Michael while he is in town.  We are also getting pretty anxious to hear of a new nephew (cousin) real soon :)  A typhoon headed toward my brother and his family this weekend has us especially prayerful for them as the baby is soon to arrive.  Loving life here and feeling pretty blessed!
