Labor Day Fun

We celebrated Labor Day this past weekend.  Much of the weekend was spent at home, but we did get out on Saturday to spend time at Grandpa and Grandma's with Kerri and the kids for a bonfire and S'mores followed by some bath fun before heading home.

 Sunday we got to bonfire with our friends and thoroughly enjoyed being together.  Monday, late morning, we took the girls and went to a new wild animal park, Boulder Ridge, in Alto.  Andy, Scott, Dawn and Kenny joined us.  We were so impressed with the facility and the huge variety of animals.  Ezri really seemed to enjoy the reptile building, running over to look into the cage of some tiny baby snakes when it was opened, and thrilled about the baby turtle.

 She was equally impressed with the big turtle outside!

 Mommy particularly enjoyed the parakeet cage, where we were able to walk in and have the birds land right on us.  It was pretty amazing and fun.

 Even Alora liked watching the bright birds fly so close.

 Much of the park's animals were in large fenced areas around the property, so we were able to ride a trailer around to see all of the different animals from Emus to Bison and a huge variety of rare and unique animals.  Alora took advantage of that ride to catch a nap.

 One of the highlights of the park was the zebra pen.  They had a new baby born just 4 days before we arrived, so it was fun to watch the very new baby with it's mommy.  It was near impossible to drag Ezri away, she was so engaged with watching them run and eat.

 The remainder of our week was spent at home.  We got in lots of time outside.  Keeping Alora on a blanket is basically impossible anymore.  She is so curious, into whatever she can get her hands on, from leaves to sticks...

 We've been busy picking beans, zucchini, broccoli, cucumbers and now some tomatoes from our garden.  Ezri loves to help hold the basket and point out the veggies that need to be picked.

Alora has not slowed a bit this past week.  She is now standing up constantly when holding on to something.

 Or, even worse, climbing!  We've got our hands full with this little munchkin... so busy!  We have to constantly watch her as she is into and onto everything in sight.  We have even seen her start to try to walk along furniture while standing.  Slow down baby!!!

Alora has also gotten two more teeth this week, back to back on Tuesday and Wednesday, again with no indication - both on the bottom.  So, now we've got 4 bottom teeth and no tops yet!  Unfortunately, Ezri has been down the later part of this week with a cold that has left her coughing and with a sore throat, fussy, moody and just not quite Ezri :(  Things seem to be looking up, however.  It's sure to be a great weekend :)
