Catching Some Color: Coronavirus Week 29

 

Last week started with a lost tooth!  Tierney lost her third tooth, one that had been hanging on for quite a while.

We also got all of the ribbons and any items that had to be turned in for judging back for the Allegan County Virtual Still Arts event held online in place of the kids displaying their 4H items at the fair.  They were all excited to get their ribbons, and Ezri had a great show!

Other exciting news included the arrival of a new-to-us forklift on Wednesday morning.  Daddy was pretty excited!

Since it was here, he figured it was a perfect tool for loading the quad onto our newly finished trailer project!

Late Friday afternoon, we packed everyone into our already packed truck and headed north to for another weekend away at the Sebright Cabin.  It was a bit of a long trip up there due to traffic, but we finally made it!

It was pretty wet and quite cold for the weekend, but the colors had begun to change and the view was pretty.

The guys found things to do, like auto repair and wiring a light switch to the basement.

The kids switched between playing outside and inside, and Ezri got to drive the tractor again, which she loved!

Kathy and her boys even went for a little run in the woods.

Elam and I opted to stay inside where it was warmer, though!

Sunday, after church, we had an early lunch and then packed into our vehicles for a drive farther north to the High Rollway for a scenic overlook of the changing forest.  It was a very busy place for somewhere so off the beaten path, but the scenery was quite beautiful even if colors weren't fully changed.

We enjoyed the view for a bit, then decided there were too many people and went back to our vehicles for a little less populated path.

We wound our way back to Harvey Bridge.

There we enjoyed some more nature and scenery as well as some fun photos with the kids.

Our way back to the cabin took us down some seasonal roads and into some great views as well.

Sunday woke us to another wet, dreary day made for staying inside.  We watched Minno with the kids for church.  This was the day the guys tackled the wiring project while the kids played and  the ladies found more things to clean between helping with the project.

We had the opportunity to stay into Monday thanks to a day off of school for the boys, so mid morning we made our way into Cadillac to see how things looked around the lakes and made a stop at the Sound Garden, where the kids made a bunch of noise and had a great time.

 After some lunch and a return to the cabin to finalize packing and closing up the cabin for colder weather, the kids took advantage of the warmer day and sunshine to finally play in their climbing tree that they had been anxious to get back to since our last visit over Labor Day.

Finally, it was time to say goodbye to our escape and head back to life at home.
