Racing Toward Halloween: Coronavirus Week 32

We had some warmer fall days last week and the kids took advantage of the time to be outside playing in the leaves!

We also worked on raking our yard and having some fun with the leaves while we were at it.

Last Saturday, we got up and set off to surprise Travis and Emmett as they ran their first 5K through Sandy Pines with Kathy.  To make it more fun, we dressed up in our Halloween costumes, and brought our marker board so we could change the signs as the race went on.  

We would drive to a spot ahead of them, get out to cheer as they ran past, jump back into the van and race ahead to do the same thing again, all the way through the race and back.

It was fun for all of us! 

It's getting closer to Halloween and the kids were so anxious to get their pumpkins carved.  They finally got the chance on Sunday afternoon!

Alora's pumpkin was super hard to cut through so Daddy had to get involved with a lot of force and not much safety...

In the end, they all had their pumpkins completed and were happy!

Saturday afternoon, we also made a quick drive to Dorr to drive through our church Trunk-or-Treat.  It was good to see faces we have not seen in a lot of months, but also a sad reminder of yet another thing that has been changed due to the Coronavirus this year.

Daddy also had a project last weekend.  He started the stair project for the barn, beginning with the platform.

Aside from those things, our week was pretty usual with a visit to Great Grandma's on Tuesday for lunch and some cleaning and visiting, school and the regular work/house stuff.  The weather is turning colder, election mail, calls and banners are everywhere, things on the Covid front are stirring back up with numbers rising and we are bracing for what November is soon to bring.
